Why You Should Buy Huawei Band 4

 February 23, 2022

The Huawei Band 4 is one of the most cost-effective fitness trackers on the market. It will track your steps, sleep, and heart rate, and will suffice for casual runners thanks to the built-in GPS. Here are the various reasons why you should buy the Huawei band 4.

SLICK DESIGN

The Band 4 is as straightforward as fitness trackers get, which is a good thing. It has a tiny 0.96in color display in a small 24g design that is a little pixelated but amazing for the price, though tough to read in bright sunlight. A capacitive touch button located just below the screen wakes the screen and serves as a menu back button.

The underside has buttons that easily release either half, with one showing the smart USB charging connection that is otherwise hidden while in use. It’s water resistant to 50 meters and small enough to go unnoticed when sleeping.

IN-BUILT USB CONNECTOR

One of the best things about the Huawei Band 4 is that, unlike other fitness trackers, it doesn’t come with a charging cord or cradle. Instead, one half of the strap detaches to show a USB-A male connector, allowing you to charge the Band by simply plugging it into any USB port.

Most fitness bands and smartwatches come with not only a wire but also a proprietary charger connector, which means that if you lose or forget the accessory, you’ll be left without power. With Band 4, this is not the case. It’s a little point, but it makes me question why other businesses don’t follow suit.

BRIGHT DISPLAY

The Huawei Band 4 has a touch-sensitive screen that is made of TFT technology and has a resolution of 160 x 80 pixels with a diagonal of 0.96′′. The Honor Band 5 and Xiaomi Mi Smart Band 4 both have OLED panels, which is another significant difference.

Despite the matrix design, the display is bright and viewing angles are good. The only thing that sets it apart from competition is the dark depth. There are five brightness options to choose from. In most circumstances, 2-3 levels will suffice, but in harsh light, you may need to go up to the 4th or 5th.

As usual, the screen is activated by raising the wrist or tapping the button. The screen can also be deactivated with a flick of the wrist. For around 5 seconds, it is highlighted.

EXCELLENT BATTERY

The battery capacity of the Huawei Band 4 is 91 mAh. With sleep tracking and heart rate monitoring, the band can last up to 7 days, but without the wrist activation option.

BUDGET PRICE AND VALUE

In the UK, Argos and Amazon sell the Huawei Band 4 for £34.99, the same price as the Xiaomi Mi Band 4. This is a significant savings over the lowest Fitbit competitor, the £89 Inspire HR. The Huawei Band 4 offers all of the same capabilities, plus a color screen and longer battery life, for less than half the price.

END VERDICT

The Huawei Band 4 is as basic as a fitness tracker with a screen can be, but it outperforms in terms of features. It tracks your steps, distance, calories, and heart rate, which you can change to automatic or manual to save battery life. It doesn’t have built-in GPS, so you’ll need to track your path with your phone while running or cycling, but it has everything else a casual fitness user could desire.
